Yesterday we finished the advertisement for our product. After this we looked at web site designs and chose a fun coloured purple design. Today we will start our actual product. We thought a complete dictionary would take just too long to put all the pages together, so we bought a regular german dictionary. We plan to make some alterations to this dictionary eg. covers. We aslo want to have our logo in colour so Pip is copying it and printing it off tonight.

Today we worked on our product advertisement.

1. What are the elements in your ads and why have you chosen them? -We chose the monkey for our logo because the monkey was the favourite animal from our survey. The dictionary will be bright pink because that was the fave colour.

2. How have you found using Publisher to create the ad? which functions worked well and which functions were difficult to use?
-I liked how you could choose a template and then work with that. I don't like how some things are different to Word.

3. What have you learned about using any of the programs you've used to create this ad? eg. Paint, Word, Photoshop or Publisher.
-That it is reeealy important to save your work.

4. Has the magazine ad been hard/ok/easy? have you learned nothing/a little/ quite a bit/ heaps.
-This ad has been quite hard but I have learnt heaps.

So far in Media we have learnt about what advertising is and how much of it is in our daily lives. (The average American child sees 10,000 a day). We have also created a survey to find out what the average teenage girl at Sacred Heart enjoys and likes. With the results of these surveys we went ahead and made a tally table to show who the favourite was in each category. Then we made pie graphs with the results displayed visually. After we had completed this we constructed a profile of the average teenage girl at Sacred Heart with the information we had collected. Now we have been asked to carry on with a product that would appeal to this average teenage girl, for homework we had to sketch 2 product ideas each. Pip and I have made a decision on a product and are now deciding on the materials we will need to produce it.
